My name is David Sibley

I was born in Huntingdon, but grew up in Godmanchester, both in the old county of Huntingdonshire. Sadly Huntingdonshire was merged into the county of Cambridge and is no longer a county.

As part of my growing up process I have lived outside of the UK in the countries of the Netherlands, Germany, Italy and then back to Germany again. I now reside back in the UK.

One of my hobbies is researching my family tree. It is an interesting hobby and takes you on a journey through your past. I believe it is a journey I will never complete as there are always new things to discover. One or two of the highlights are discovering I am related to a very good friend of mine. That people I have grown up with were distant relations and we never knew that. My mother always insisting that we had Scottish blood within us, that is actually not the case, well at the moment! 

I have discovered that as of this moment in time (January 2021) I am a child of England. To be more specific a child of South East England. My direct ancestors come from all of East Anglia, Lincolnshire to just south of Lincoln, Nothamptonshire, Oxfordshire, Berkshire, Wiltshire, Hampshire, Sussex, Surrey and Kent.
